Introduction

This course is designed for operational transport aircraft pilots and aircrew who have already had indoctrination training in Aviation Physiology and Human Factors before. It is a comprehensive course that reminds the participants of the various aviation physiology and human factors challenges associated with flying. Through didactics, simulators and case studies, the transport aircraft pilot and/or aircrew gets a comprehensive awareness of the issues of concern.

We recommend that all military transport aircraft pilots and aircrew attend this course once every 3 years.

Objectives

At the end of this course, the participant is expected to acquire:

  1. Comprehensive knowledge of the aviation physiological hazards associated with flying;
  2. Personal experience in various Aviation Physiology simulators such as Hypobaric Chamber, Spatial Disorientation Trainer, Night Vision Trainer, Oxygen System Trainer;
  3. Awareness of the cognitive human factors issues in flying.
