Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) Course
National Resuscitation Council (NRC, Singapore) accredited Training Centre

Introduction

The BCLS course aims to provide participants with the knowledge and skills for resuscitating the collapsed adult and infant victims. Successful candidates will be awarded with a BCLS certificate accredited by National Resuscitation Council (NRC, Singapore) with 2-year validity.

Course Objectives

At the end of the course, participants will be able to:

Understand the rescuer’s role in the chain of survival
Activate the appropriate emergency response system
Perform Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) for adult and infant victims
Relief foreign body airway obstruction in a conscious and unconscious adult and infant victim

Course Content

Introduction to CPR
Basic Structure and functions of organs in CPR
One-Rescuer Adult CPR
Adult Foreign Body Airway Obstruction (FBAO)
One-Rescuer Infant CPR
Infant Foreign Body Airway Obstruction (FBAO)
Recovery position
Practical session
Theory Test (MCQ) and Practical Test (scenario-based)

Who Should Attend

Healthcare workers, doctors, GPs, nurses
All employees especially those in safety, Emergency Response Teams (ERT), managers, supervisors, frontline staff, safety personnel

Course Pre-requisites

Able to understand English
Must be able to endure moderate physical exertion
Not recommended for those in late pregnancy or back injuries
